I absolutely loved the charming decor of this hotel! The colonial furnishings and old glass windows gave it a nostalgic feel, making me feel like I had stepped back in time. The large expansive gardens were beautifully landscaped, providing a peaceful and serene environment for relaxation. As a senior person, I found the hotel's accessibility to be excellent, with easy access to the heart of Nuwara Eliya town and its amenities.
I would have preferred if the heating in the rooms were better, especially during the colder days in Nuwara Eliya. The small electric heater provided was insufficient to keep the room warm.

As a history enthusiast, staying at Ferncliff Bungalow was an absolute delight. The 19th century English atmosphere transported me back in time. The staff were exceptional, always ready to help and even gave me a tour of the centuries-old layout. The dishes, made from their own garden produce, were delicious, especially the incredible pudding. I would love to extend my stay in this wonderful house.
Would be happy to recommend this amazing place.

The decoration at Ferncliff Bungalow was absolutely delightful, showcasing its rich colonial heritage. From the vintage furniture to the old-world charm, everything exuded a sense of history and elegance. The general areas of the hotel, including the living room and dining room, were cozy and welcoming, creating an atmosphere that made me feel like I was staying in someone's home. As a senior woman, I appreciated how accessible the hotel was, with its convenient location near the heart of Nuwara Eliya town and its beautiful gardens that could be easily explored.
If I had to ask for one thing to make the vacation even better for senior people, it would be a little more attentiveness from the staff. While the children working there were polite and helpful, there were times when I felt their attention could have been a bit more focused on the needs of the older guests.

Great service and friendly staff. The staff were very attentive and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The service was top-notch and we felt like VIPs. The location was also fantastic, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. It was a peaceful and serene environment, perfect for relaxation. Additionally, the food was delicious and we enjoyed every meal that we had at the hotel.
The room was quite dark and lacked natural light. It made the space feel a bit gloomy and less inviting.

The food was delicious, including the afternoon tea and dinner. The staff, especially Bernard, were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!
We felt really comfortable and had no complaints during our stay.

This charming colonial bungalow offers a glimpse into a bygone era with its original furnishings and beautiful garden setting. the staff, particularly Mr Bernard, go above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. the rooms are equipped with heaters and hot water bottles, perfect for the cooler climate. the chef prepares delicious meals, including a highlight of leek curry and hoppers for breakfast. You'll also enjoy the well-maintained grounds and the warm hospitality of the staff.
The neighborhood can be a bit noisy during the day, but that's a minor inconvenience compared to the overall experience at this lovely bungalow.
